Sean Nunan to Michael Collins (Dublin)

New York, 20 January 1920

A Michéal a Chara,

Just a few lines in a hurry to let you know that the 'blood offeschels'1 O'Mara and self are in the best of form. James [O'Mara] sends his love.

Things in the loan department are going in good style. The Drive opened in New York on Sunday with a meeting at the Lexington Theatre, where $2,400,000 was pledged in behalf of New York City. The first2 day's collection in the borough of Brooklyn realised $150,000 so you can see that we are moving. I feel certain that more than the ten million will be realised.

Madame O'Rahilly spoke at the meeting and did well. The Chief3 was formally presented with the Freedom of New York on Saturday last. The New York Assembly - that is the Legislature of New York State will receive the Chief on tomorrow and he will address them in session. He is to be introduced by the Governor of New York whose house guest he will be. Yesterday the assembly passed an unanimous resolution approving of the issue of bond certificates and recommending them to the American people. So you see things are going.

Enclosed are a couple of pamphlets which may be of interest, as showing how the organisation is planned.4 Best wishes to all friends, and good luck to you. Remember me to the flock.

do chara,
Seán [Nunan]
