Dearg code telegram from Con Cremin to Joseph P. Walshe (Dublin)
(No. 195)

BERLIN, 13 December 1944

Again Dec. 11th raised question your tel. 2531 on lines your tel. 2632 with official my tel. 189.3 I formed impression that he had in the meantime discussed matter with higher authority as he was very positive on this occasion. He said Foreign Office cannot see how this question concerns us at all; that German authorities regard démarche of this description by neutral governments as attributable to Jewish ruse and that Jews would consider German Government very naïve if it were for instance to reply to our enquiry to effect that Jews in question had been in fact brought here. In the circumstances I do not see what further action I can take.4
