Letter from Joseph P. Walshe to Art O'Brien (Paris)
(Copy)

Dublin, 3 July 1936

As the new French Government has now been some weeks in Office the Minister would be glad to have from you as soon as possible a report on the general policy, internal and external, likely to be pursued under M. Blum.1 The Minister would be particularly interested to have your views as to whether Communism is still gaining ground in France and as to the influence likely to be exercised by the Communist Party on the Government's policy.
