Extract from minutes of a meeting of the Executive Council (C.2/50)

Dublin, 12 February 1924

BOUNDARY QUESTION.

Consideration was given to a number of memoranda prepared by members of the Exec: Council outlining their views with regard to certain proposals made by the British Government in connection with the recent London Conference on the Boundary question.1

The memoranda were referred to the Minister for Education2 who is to prepare in conjunction with the Secretary to the Council a draft reply to the British Government intimating that the proposals could not be accepted by the Government of Saorstát Eireann.

The draft is to be circulated to the members of the Executive Council and their observations thereon communicated to the Minister of Education at the earliest possible moment.

The Minister for External Affairs3 is to inform the Colonial Secretary that the Government of Saorstát Eireann desire that the Conference should be resumed without delay.
