I have discussed the suggestion made in your letter of 28th June (ref.8/2)1 about the use of the Falkland Islands issue for purposes of analogy, with Minister Murphy2 and with the Political Division here. The official view is that you should not adopt the line you suggest in official propaganda and not take any action which would suggest that the Government had taken a definite stand on this issue.
Minister Murphy will explain the reasons for this to you on his return.
