The Minister told me to let you know – and I should have done so a week ago – that the Taoiseach had the British Ambassador in to see him and asked him to ascertain whether the British could or could not supply certain types of arms to us. If they couldn’t, or wouldn’t, we would seek supplies elsewhere.
