DUBLIN, 12.30 p.m., 5 May 1923

MONS. LUZIO.

The Secretary read a report furnished by Mr. Sean Murphy¹ in connection with his mission to Rome regarding Mons. Luzio. The result of his mission had been most satisfactory, and Mons. Luzio had been recalled.

It was decided that a letter of thanks² should be sent by the President to His Holiness the Pope for the gracious manner in which His Holiness had acceded to the representations of the Irish Government and that a letter of appreciation should also be sent to the Marquis MacSwiney for the valuable assistance rendered by him in connection with this matter.³

It was arranged that the Attorney General should draft both letters.
