No. 77 NAI DT S2198
DUBLIN, 12.30 p.m., 5 May 1923
Sent to President and Att. General.
MONS. LUZIO.
The Secretary read a report furnished by Mr. Sean Murphy1 in connection with his mission to Rome regarding Mons. Luzio. The result of his mission had been most satisfactory, and Mons. Luzio had been recalled.
It was decided that a letter of thanks2 should be sent by the President to His Holiness the Pope for the gracious manner in which His Holiness had acceded to the representations of the Irish Government and that a letter of appreciation should also be sent to the Marquis MacSwiney for the valuable assistance rendered by him in connection with this matter.3
It was arranged that the Attorney General should draft both letters.
