Diarmuid O’Hegarty to Eoin MacNeill (London)

DUBLIN, 17 October 1923

A Chara,

The President would be glad if you would keep a lookout for a suitable opportunity of sounding the British and the others on the possibility of our having an ambassador at Washington.

From various points of view it would be of immense advantage not only to us but also to some of the other members of the Commonwealth.

We will write you about this in the course of a day or two1

Mise, le meas,
[copy letter unsigned]
