All good wishes to you and Elsie¹ for the New Year.

The appointment of an honorary Consul to Danzig would bring a shoal of requests for similar honours from the U.S.A. and from other countries. Danzig has no special claim that we can discover. So for the time being at any rate there will be no appointment there.
