The London Passenger Transport Board, the Department will doubtless be aware, is the organisation which controls all the Underground Railways, all the London Buses, and a large number of Buses carrying passengers all over what are known as the Home Counties. A representative of the Board called here and asked if he could be supplied with a facsimile print of the official flag and Coat of Arms of Saorstát Éireann. He explained that these are required to see if they can be successfully incorporated with similar emblems of other countries in the Commonwealth in posters which the London Passenger Transport Board are considering in connection with the forthcoming Coronation celebrations.

I shall be glad to know what view the Minister takes of this proposal. It is, I think, unlikely that the poster decorations will include foreign countries and in these circumstances, having regard to the fact that An Saorstát will not officially be participating in the Coronation celebrations, it may be well to say that this is a request with which we cannot comply.
