Extract from a handwritten letter from Michael Rynne to Joseph P. Walshe (Dublin)

Geneva, 2 July 1936

[matter omitted]

The President is down to speak on the Italo-Ethiopian dispute for this afternoon.1 At the moment it is not possible to summarise all the views which he will express on the various matters in issue. It seems possible, however, that the neutral intentions of Saorstát Éireann - [in] the event of a future European war, will be made apparent in the course of the President's speech. Doubtless, you will have the text of the speech before you receive the present minute.
