Taoiseach's decisions on 22/4/38

1. We may proceed with the arrangements for the printing of the text of the Agreements if instructions to the contrary have not been received by 3.30 p.m. on Monday 25th April.
2. The British Command Paper may be used as printer's copy with such necessary amendments as the changing of the order of reference to the two Governments, where appropriate, the amendment of 'the Govt. of Éire' to read 'the Govt. of Ireland' on the title-page and the transposition of the Irish and British signatures.
3. The text of the Agreements is to be presented to both Houses of the Oireachtas.
4. The resolution of approval is to be tabled in Dáil Éireann only and is to be put down in the Taoiseach's name.
5. The drafting of the Prices Commission Bill, the Lump Sum Bill and the Finance Bill may be formally authorised.

2. Speak Prof. Whelehan² re rushed printing on Monday, 25th April.
3. Speak Colm O'Murchadha³ re parliamentary procedure.
4. Speak Seán Murphy re questions of broadcasting announcement on Friday night, 22nd April and news re provisions of agreements on Monday night, 25th April.
5. Remind Taoiseach re settlement of terms of communiqué on Friday night, 22nd April.

1) Spoke Mr. Little in accordance with para.1 and informed him of time-table for communication to Mr. Doyle.

2) and 3) The Taoiseach has instructed me to defer these steps until Friday evening, 22nd April.

4) Spoke Mr. Murphy. The B.B.C. will not broadcast news in this connection on Friday 22nd or Monday 25th April. It follows that our service should not broadcast.

5) Done. Mr. Murphy has received text of proposed British communiqué.
