Sir John Maffey has been appointed as British Representative to Ireland. His appointment indicates that our relations approximate to these existing between two sovereign but friendly neighbouring states. He completes the diplomatic channels of communication of which the High Commissioner constitutes the other. If asked questions you may reply in the foregoing words.
