Letter from Joseph P. Walshe to H. A. Goodman (London)
(216/319)

DUBLIN, 4 June 1945

I have received your letter of the 16th May. As I explained to you during your visit to Dublin in October last and again in my telegram of the 14th February1 the question of sending Jewish refugee children here is in the hands of the American Government. They are aware that our offer to take 500 children still holds good and we do not wish to jeopardise that arrangement by entering into negotiations with any other organisation.

Yours sincerely,
[stamped] (signed) J. P. WALSHE
