Extract from the minutes of a meeting of the Cabinet
'Export of foodstuffs to Czechoslovakia'
(GC 5/45) (Item 10) (S14311)

Dublin, 5 November 1948

Following consideration of a memorandum dated the 30th October, 1948, submitted by the Minister for Agriculture1 and a memorandum dated the 4th November, 1948, submitted by the Minister for External Affairs,2 it was decided that Czechoslovakia should be regarded as eligible for food shipments from Ireland in the course of trade.

It was understood that the only food product that could, at present, be considered for export to that country was tinned meat (stewed steak).
