No. 167 NAI DFA/10/P148
Dublin, 18 October 1948
Assistant Secretary (Mr. McCauley).
I mentioned this matter to the Minister. Provided the traffic does not assume alarming proportions, there is no reason why we should object to the passage of military personnel in transit through Shannon Airport in time of peace.
It would be well, however, to thank the Department of Industry & Commerce for the report and ask them to keep us advised of any significant developments in connection with the matter which may come under notice.
