'Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Human Rightsand Fundamental Freedoms: Signature on behalf of Government'

Dublin, 27 October 1950
Following consideration of a memorandum dated the 21st October, 1950,1 submitted by the Minister for External Affairs with a draft Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms drawn up by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in August, 1950, and Amendments thereto adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on the 25th August, 1950, it was agreed, on the understanding that every endeavour would be made by the Minister to have the Amendments adopted by the Consultative Assembly accepted by the Committee of Ministers and incorporated in the final text of the Convention,
- that the Convention, in the terms of the draft, as may be amended by the Committee of Ministers to meet the Amendments adopted by the Consultative Assembly, should be signed on behalf of the Government;
- to authorize the Minister to sign the Convention accordingly; and
- to issue in the Minister's favour a Full Power for the purpose.
