Following consideration of a memorandum dated the 21st October, 1950,1 submitted by the Minister for External Affairs with a draft Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms drawn up by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in August, 1950, and Amendments thereto adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on the 25th August, 1950, it was agreed, on the understanding that every endeavour would be made by the Minister to have the Amendments adopted by the Consultative Assembly accepted by the Committee of Ministers and incorporated in the final text of the Convention,
