Your 971. Tell Delegates Chief will go to America at earliest possible date, perhaps next month. Ask them to expect suggestion early next week for possible postponement of Congress for short period. Inform them situation extremely grave here owing to possibility of imposition of conscription on Six Counties. Emphasise real danger of bloodshed as people here and in Six Counties will resist to death imposition of conscription on Irish Nation by external power. It is vital to secure public support of our people in America in this matter with all possible speed.
