Handwritten letter from John A. Costello to John J. Hearne (Ottawa)

Dublin, 30 April 1948

My dear John:1
I have accepted the invitation of the Canadian Bar Association to attend their meetings at Montreal from the 30th August next and the four following days. Apparently I am expected to address the Association for three quarters of an hour on the 30th August. Ida2 has also been invited and is coming with me. I have decided to go by boat in order to get the only rest I am likely to get this year. External Affairs are to make the arrangements. I want you to be good enough to revise my proofs3 - if I may revert to my old professional jargon. What sort of subject should I select? Generally please tell me anything that you may know I ought to do.

I am sorry to impose on you but I know you will help.

Yours very sincerely,
John A. Costello

1 Received by Hearne on 18 May 1948.

2 Ida Mary Costello (née O'Malley) (1888-1956), married John A. Costello on 31 July 1919.
