Your 126.1 Try to avoid answering enquiry or indeed having any discussion on subject because the less attention that is drawn to our position the better. For your own secret information, however, our position is that staff of former Legation are free to leave but we will not coerce them and that as regards 'dangerous' Germans that is spies and agents we will not hand them over but intend to continue them in present close confinement. Military internees have been repatriated. No question has arisen as regards other German residents.
