Consideration was given to a memorandum dated 6th March, 1946, submitted by the Minister for Industry and Commerce,1 relative to the establishment of a transatlantic air service. It was decided that Aer Rianta should be instructed to proceed forthwith to take the necessary steps to establish a transatlantic air service on the basis of two schedules weekly. It was also decided that the service should be operated by Aer Rianta in the event of an arrangement being made for participation by British interests in the operations carried on by Aer Lingus.
