No. 91 NAI DFA Holy See Embassy 26/5
Dublin, 8 March 1946
Dear Kiernan,
The man1 referred to in your letter L. 1/9/46 of the 14th February2 was in Paris up till some time in December or January when, very much against everyone's advice, he returned to the French zone of occupation, with the apparent intention of rejoining Miss Meissner.
His wife and brother-in-law were maintaining him through our intermediary during his stay in Paris. How he is managing to live now, we have no idea.
There are curious aspects about the case. It is strange that the man in question should be able to travel around with such apparent freedom. We should imagine that the less attention he drew to his existence at this particular time, the better for himself.
Yours sincerely,
F.H. Boland3
