Inclination American officials is to seek postponement. They feel, if British hold out against Albania, Russia will hold out against Ireland. Australia today asked my personal view effect on public opinion in Ireland of second rejection now. If matter clearly coming to a vote in Council and no prospect our success, Australia would, at appropriate time, move postponement if you desire avoid another rejection now. Please inform me as soon as possible.
